Filmlab Digital gets BrightDrive shareable media store

Filmlab, one of India’s lar-ger motion picture processing labs, has purchased a Bright-Drive shareable media store for its new DI and film resto-ration facility, Filmlab Digital, Mumbai, which will be laun-ched later this year.
“Having looked at other sy-stems, BrightDrive stood out for its reliability in the field, its high-performance and its advanced technology,” said Henning Hahn, CTO - Digital Imaging, Filmlab. “With it we will be able to provide clients with a very efficient and flexi-ble workflow between our DI systems and lab services.”
BrightDrive will provide the infrastructure and media shar-ing facilities for a range of projects including full-length feature films for international

and Bollywood markets. Film Cutter, Film Master and Final Cut Pro operators will be able to work collaboratively using the same media at the same time by sharing files across networks.
2K and 4K media will be delivered in real-time enabling operators to begin work with-out the need to copy data bet-ween workstations. BrightDr-ive will also provide nearline storage for four restoration seats and two scanners as well as media sharing between Fil-mlab Digital’s new facilities and Filmlab’s film laborator-ies. The BrightDrive range of shareable media systems is fully scalable to meet all DI and post applications, and can be integrated easily with exis-ting infrastructures.
