Marathi movie channel, Zee Talkies launched

   Zee Entertainment Enterp-rises Ltd (ZEEL) has recen-tly launched its 24- hour Marathi movie channel, Zee Talkies. The channel broad-cast five movies a day along with other filmrelated progr-ammes and fillers. The Zee Group has taken responsibi-lity for the marketing, distri-bution and telecast (for In-dian and overseas territories) for all these films. Zee Netw-ork has signed three produc-tion houses, namely Mahesh Manjrekar’s Ashvami Films, Shrirang Godbole’s Indian Magic Eye and Smita Talw-alkar’s Asmita Chitra in a bid to provide a financial sta-mina to Marathi film produc-ers. Over the next two years, these three producers will present the network a total of 15 Marathi films with five films from each of them.

unveil E24 and Life24 channels

   BAG. Films and Media is all geared up for the launch of E24, an entertainment ch-annel and Life24, which will deal with the mind, body and soul. Both these channel fall under the purview of BAG Glamour Pvt Ltd. Comment-ing on the developments, Anurradha Prasad, managing director B.A.G Films & Me-dia Ltd, said “It has always been our vision to establish ourselves in the broadcasting arena, and this is the first milestone towards realising that vision.” BAG Films has plans for four new channels, of which two – E24 and News24, the 24-hour Hindi news channel – are already geared up for launch.

NDTV unveils more broadcast channels  this  year

   It launched NDTV Arabia earlier this month with a focus on Dubai and UAE. It has also launched a Bahasa Malaysia lan-guage channel in Malaysia, in partnership with Astro All Asia.

   Within India, the company launched its lifestyle  channel NDTV Good  Times, which has a branding tie-up with UB Group’s Kingfisher. The lifestyle channel would be an informative channel that would cover various issues ranging from leisure to travel and food, and would target the global urban Indian.
   Dr Prannoy Roy, NDTV chairman, rev-ealed, “We will be announcing the name of the channel soon. It will be a free-to-air channel and will be headed by its CEO Smeeta Chakrabarty.”
   NDTV has launched yet another Eng-lish news channel ‘NDTV MetroNation’, which cater to the audience in Delhi and NCR region and to the local advertisers. The target group is all the English news-paper reading audience, primarily those in the  age group of 18-45. With the strength

   There would be major web and mobile-based activities to reach to a larger mass.
   Besides this, NDTV will launch city cha-nnels focused on Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai, under the brand NDTV MetroNation, similar to the cha-nnel launched in New Delhi, chief execu-tive K V L Narayan Rao said.


STAR adds power to its bouquet, to distribute Times Now and Zoom channels

   STAR will represent Times Now and Zoom to build subscription revenues for analog cable, DTH platforms and other digital delivery systems.
   Commenting on the deal, Sunil Lulla, CEO, Times Now, said, “We are pleased to build this new relationship with STAR. The channel enjoys enormous confidence

on revenues. With this relationship, Times Now augments the STAR Group’s bouquet offering with India’s leading English news channel.”
   Suresh Bala, CEO, Zoom, said, “For Zoom, this relationship with STAR ena-bles it to grow its subscription revenue at a faster rate. Zoom enjoys a strong fran-chise with urban and upscale audiences with its unique offering of glamour and Bollywood news. This will further streng-then STAR India’s customer offering.”
   Both the channels expect to grow their penetration across India via the STAR bouquet, while STAR continues to grow the width of its offering. Times Now and Zoom will remain free-to-air in the current CAS markets.
