Primestream to show FORK Logger 1.0 at BES 2013

New Built-In Module for FORK 3.5 Helps Content Owners Tag Video With Metadata Flexibly and Quickly Through Customizable User Interface

Miami - Jan. 29, 2013 - Primestream®, a leader in advanced media asset management and broadcast automation software, today released FORK™ Logger 1.0, a new cross-platform module that’s part of the acclaimed FORK Production Suite 3.5. FORK Logger is a powerful metadata-tagging tool that allows for logging live or prerecorded video. The module’s tightly integrated and configurable user interface enables content loggers to tag video with defined metadata into the FORK environment effortlessly, making assets easier to manage, automate, and, ultimately, monetize.

“Content owners understand that their video archive is only as good as the descriptive metadata that goes into it,” said Claudio Lisman, Primestream president and CEO. “The driving force behind FORK Logger was to create a highly configurable, user-friendly application built inside FORK for quick metadata tagging. While most logging products focus on one sport or market, FORK Logger’s interface is completely customizable, so it can be designed and configured to look exactly how our customers want it.”

At the heart of the FORK Logger is a dynamic GUI. The GUI contains form panels, button panels, video viewers, marker thumbnail lists, and a bin list of created events, all of which are tools that can be combined - many in a dynamic way - based on the content. The FORK Logger supports multiple layouts per system. Users can work live with ingesting feeds or can call up existing clips inside FORK. With FORK Logger, users can log video files so that they can be searched, filtered, and organized by any metadata entry inside FORK Content Navigator™, FORK’s media asset manager. They can log key information using a FORK-generated proxy or high-resolution video, and the FORK Logger creates FORK markers and subclips that can be seen and used across the FORK platform.

As with FORK Content Navigator, FORK Logger allows more than one user to log the same clip at the same time, and all created events are accessible instantly by the other loggers or FORK users.

“The variety of configurations and the ability to change the interface dynamically based on the data and context makes FORK Logger unlike any other metadata tool on the market,” Lisman said. “It means a broadcaster’s assets will have additional - and more accurate - metadata, making them easier to monetize more quickly.”

Any FORK client can become a FORK Logger with no special station required. FORK Logger is available for both Mac® and Windows® operating systems.

FORK Logger debuted today at BES2013. Demonstrations are available on stand 107. More information about Primestream products is available at www.primestream.com/b4m

Primestream Announces Enhancements to FORK Xchange Suite

Subclip Module, Upload Manager, Multitrack Audio Control, and More Boost FORK Web Portal App

Miami - Jan. 29, 2013 - Primestream®, a leader in advanced media asset management and broadcast automation software, will be showing the latest version of FORK™ Xchange™ Suite at BES 2013 – the application that gives broadcasters instant Web access to content on their FORK Production servers from any Windows®, Mac®, or iOS device. FORK Xchange Suite 1.5, an add-on to Primestream’s highly acclaimed FORK software platform for managing and automating broadcast workflows, contains new capabilities for creating subclips and markers, as well as an upload manager, extended metadata functionality, multitrack audio control, and more new features that make it even easier for media enterprises to manage content efficiently among multiple FORK Production sites.

“Content creation and management are no longer centrally located activities. We created Xchange Suite so that producers and editors can tap into their content from anywhere,” said Claudio Lisman, Primestream president and CEO. “The more efficiently and quickly they can get the job done, the more readily they will profit from their assets. We’re building on that notion with this latest version of Xchange.”

In FORK Xchange Suite 1.5, subclips can now be created directly from the Xchange Suite using the new Assemble module, an interface for creating subclips and markers. Users can review material and select portions of the media to deliver to remote sites. Users can create and submit markers and subclips through Assemble from a desktop PC and/or iPad®.

FORK Xchange Suite 1.5 also boasts an upload manager and monitor, which allows users to upload content in any of the supported formats directly from the user’s browser, and then monitor the upload progress of multiple files. Once the FORK Production Server registers the file, it creates an H.264 proxy file, which is also viewable from anywhere. Users anywhere in the world can also download a proxy or high-res media file of any clip in Xchange.

With the new multitrack audio feature in Xchange Suite 1.5, a video clip can have multiple tracks of audio in different languages. Additionally, a new audio panel facilitates switching between audio tracks and master volume controls. This flexibility enables accurate creation of voice-over text for multilanguage assets.

Xchange Suite 1.5 also has extended metadata capabilities. Required metadata fields ensure that content has valuable information that is later searchable within Xchange and FORK. Read-only metadata fields provide protection for critical information, embedded within the content. The use of predefined values allows for quick tagging of content with commonly used metadata tags. Upon login, groups are presented with their customized form for metadata logging - permitting easy access and user-friendly workflows.

Not only is Xchange hardware-agnostic, it also supports multiple frame rates according to both NTSC and PAL standards. Other new features include the ability to color-code media files for easy identification, and the ability to perform simple or advanced searches within smartbins with the click of a button.

Primestream will demonstrate FORK Xchange Suite 1.5 at BES2013 on stand 107. More information about Primestream, their products are available at www.primestream.com/b4m
